Caltrans Plans to Reopen 2 Lanes of Coast Highway
Caltrans hopes to reopen one lane in each direction of Pacific Coast Highway between Las Flores and Topanga canyons by Thursday afternoon, an official said.
On Monday, workers finished removing two houses that were threatening to fall after a mudslide blocked the road June 19, Margie Tiritilli said.
Crews will continue to haul debris from the slide to a Malibu landfill and are welding together a 600-foot wall of double-stacked cargo containers at the base of the hillside, she said.
