Mayor Expected to Seek Reelection

Cabo Seafood Grill & Cantina will host a reception this weekend for Mayor Manuel Lopez, who was elected to the Oxnard City Council 20 years ago this month.
Lopez is expected to announce his intention to seek another term as mayor at the reception, which will run from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The event is sponsored by the restaurant and some of Lopez’s longtime political supporters.
“I think I’ve enjoyed all my time on the council and that I’m still effective,” said Lopez, 70.
