Pedestrian Accident Under Investigation
Sheriff’s investigators are still looking into an accident last week in which a pedestrian was struck by a garbage truck.
Sheriff’s department spokesman Lt. Hector Rivera said Monday that San Juan Capistrano resident Laura Espinosa-Cardenas, 37, is in serious but stable condition at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center, with bone fractures.
Espinosa-Cardenas was hit by a Solag Disposal truck while crossing the intersection of Del Obispo Street and Ortega Highway at 7:24 a.m. Wednesday.
Driver Ivan Rincon, 33, of San Clemente was not cited, pending results of the investigation.
