Council to Discuss Downtown Revamp

The City Council is scheduled to continue its public hearing tonight on a plan to revitalize Moorpark's downtown area, which centers around High Street and its surrounding roads.

The council will again examine a report by a committee of residents and business people on ways to improve the area, and study a revitalization plan developed by RRM Design Group.

The group's plan details ways to change the area's zoning to attract residential and commercial businesses and outlines ways to improve the architecture of the buildings.

The council is not expected to vote on the issue for several months, but citizens are invited to express their views tonight.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at 799 Moorpark Ave.
