Orange Hair Gets Suspect Noticed
A man with bleached orange hair was arrested at a shopping plaza Saturday on suspicion of robbing a Huntington Beach bank three hours earlier.
Police say that Nino Augustine Noblis, 30, of Yorba Linda, entered a Wells Fargo bank on Bolsa Avenue about 10:45 a.m. He waited his turn in line, then handed the teller a note demanding a large amount of money. He was armed with a handgun and extra ammunition, Lt. Luis Ochoa said.
After stuffing a backpack full of money, Noblis ran away.
A few hours later, a man fitting his description was spotted behaving suspiciously outside the movie theater at the Metro Pointe shopping center in Costa Mesa.
“The hair, and he’s a big guy, he stood out,” Ochoa said of Noblis, who is 6 feet, 4 inches.
Noblis was arrested by Costa Mesa police. Witnesses later identified him as the bank robber, Ochoa said. He was charged with armed robbery, and bail was set at $50,000.
