Shooting Victim Found Outside Home
A 25-year-old man was found shot to death Saturday morning behind the North Hollywood apartment he shared with his parents, authorities said.
Dmitriy Dzhanidze was shot an unknown number of times in his upper torso, said Det. Mike Coffey of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Investigators have few clues in the shooting, which occurred in the 6100 block of Whitsett Avenue about 1:30 a.m., he said.
“Some neighbors heard shots, fired between 1 and 2 in the morning, but no one went out and checked when they heard the shots,” Coffey said. “When a neighbor went out this morning, about 7:30, that’s when the body was found.”
Dzhanidze and his parents emigrated from Russia “some time ago; we’re not sure when,” Coffey said.
