710 Freeway
Mary Bryce states (“Hundreds March Against 710 Freeway Extension,” March 8) that Caltrans has been lousy and won’t bend an inch. Just who is it that has been unbending the last 30 years? The city of South Pasadena. Were it not for numerous lawsuits, the freeway extension would have been completed long ago at a fraction of the cost needed to complete it today.
La Canada was not destroyed by the 210 Freeway nor were Pasadena, Arcadia or any other city through which the 210 passes. Is it better to have all these cars driving through the streets of South Pasadena? Most motorists won’t think it is.
