Police on Monday were searching for a 16-year-old boy they believe was an accomplice in the shooting death of a Korean store owner.

After a Saturday predawn raid involving 20 officers, Demetrius Meloncon, 19, was arrested for investigation of murder, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, Compton police Lt. Danny Sneed said.

The pair allegedly walked into the Family Affair Liquor Store in the 800 block of West Rosecrans Avenue on March 3 just as the owners were closing. Meloncon pointed a gun at Yeon Kim, 56, and shot him in the head, Sneed said. Kim’s wife, Youn Ja Kim , 53, was chased into the parking lot where she was beaten before a bag containing a few thousand dollars was stolen.
