Theater Plan Changes Receive Tentative OK
The City Council has tentatively approved changes to plans for a proposed restaurant and theater complex at Tapo Canyon Road and Alamo Street.
The changes, requested by developer Robert Selleck, would allow different planters, signs, lights and landscaping. They will come before the council for final approval Monday.
Approval would be the final hurdle for the project, which includes Ventura County’s largest theater with 16 screens and more than 3,000 seats.
The council also made several recommendations to Selleck to help ease concerns of residents of the neighboring Vista Monte housing tract, who fear the project will lead to increased crime, devalued properties and noise.
