A couple who own a pair of businesses called Paralegal Services and Homesavers of California have been charged with scamming money and power of attorney rights from customers.

Jerry Golden, 58, and his wife, Jacqulen, 51, of Ventura were booked into the Ventura County Jail on Thursday, according to the district attorney’s office. Both were released after posting bail and ordered to return for their arraignments in about two weeks.

Jerry Golden is charged with five felony counts of violating mortgage foreclosure regulations and a misdemeanor count of illegally practicing law. Authorities believe that he misused power of attorney rights that he obtained from customers.
