Alumni Sought for Pool Fund-Raiser

Alumni swimmers who used the Huntington Beach High School pool from 1954 to 1991 are being invited back as part of a campaign to raise $400,000 to reopen the aging facility.
The 64-year-old pool has been closed since 1991 because of budget cuts. The school’s aquatic teams have been forced to use other pools for practice and competitions.
The “Take the Plunge” campaign started in December and has raised $25,000.
Organizers hope to reach about 400 alumni swimmers with this latest effort.
Those who donate $100 or more will have their name inscribed on a planned Donor Wall at the pool’s entrance.
The Huntington Beach High School Foundation, which is spearheading the campaign, hopes to have renovations completed by the end of the year.
