Fifty-eight years ago, audiences were equally fanatic about “Gone With the Wind” and couldn’t get enough of the tumultuous romance between Rhett Butler (Clark Gable) and Scarlett O’Hara (Vivien Leigh).

Nominated for a then-record 13 Oscars, David O. Selznick’s lavish Civil War drama won a record eight Academy Awards, including best film, best actress, best supporting actress and best director.
