Trauma Program Seeks Counselors

The Orange County Trauma Intervention Program is looking for volunteers to serve as crisis counselors at disasters or other traumatic events.

Volunteers will be called by sheriff's deputies, firefighters or hospital workers to counsel survivors in the wake of everything from suicides to robberies.

The goal is to provide basic emotional support while authorities conduct the necessary investigations or deal with the crisis.

No experience is required. Training classes begin April 23.
