A man in a pickup refused to pull over for a traffic violation Thursday, sparking a chase that reached speeds of up to 100 mph but ended without incident, police said.

The 15-minute pursuit started about 11 a.m. at Orangethorpe and Stanton avenues when a Fullerton motorcycle officer tried to pull over a black 1994 Chevrolet pickup that was missing a brake light.

The pickup fled north on the Santa Ana Freeway, driving as fast as 100 mph, police said. The motorist finally pulled over and surrendered to Fullerton and Long Beach police officers at 64th Street and Indiana Avenue in Long Beach, police said.
