In other Sunset League games:

Edison 1, Huntington Beach 0 (8)--Edison scored an unearned run in the top of the eighth. Kelly Birk pitched a complete game for the Chargers (2-4 in league).

Los Alamitos 2, Esperanza 0--Phelan Wright’s single in the sixth with one out drove in two runs for host Los Alamitos (4-2, 11-8). Kristi Bissonnette and Sara Kahler singled to start the inning. Esperanza is 8-11, 2-4.

In the Empire League:

El Dorado 2, Loara 1--Sarah Yarbrough hit a lead-off home run in the seventh to win it for host El Dorado (11-8, 3-3). She was four for four.

Kennedy 1, Century 0--Erica Duncan scored on a Lashelle Laird ground out to second in the third inning. Nicole Crouse struck out nine, giving up two hits for host Kennedy (14-6, 6-0). Century is 10-10-1, 2-3-1.

In the Freeway League:

La Habra 8, Fullerton 2--Melissa Garcia’s RBI single in the sixth began La Habra’s five-run inning. The Highlanders had six of their 14 hits in that inning. Christina Carrillo was two for four with one RBI for host La Habra (17-6-1, 6-0).

Sonora 9, Troy 3--Sonora’s Jennifer Link had two hits to bring her career total to 105, the most in school history. Link, a junior, broke Missy Gomez’s record, which was set in 1996. Against Troy (14-8, 2-4), Dawn Ramynke was four for four with four RBIs.

In the Garden Grove League:

No. 3 Pacifica 8, Los Amigos 0--Jessica Soto struck out 12 and walked one in a no-hitter for host Pacifica (20-3, 8-0). Nicole Pickett was three for three, including a solo homer in the sixth, with three RBIs.

In the Orange League:

Savanna 4, Western 2--Trailing 2-1 in the top of the seventh, Savanna (8-9, 4-2) scored three times. Savanna’s Dallas Lambert had two hits.

Valencia 7, Magnolia 5--Valencia broke a tie with three runs in the top of the seventh. The Tigers tried a double steal and when the catcher threw wildly to third, both runners scored.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Aliso Niguel 7, Costa Mesa 6--After trailing, 6-3, Courtney Thompson capped a four-run seventh inning with the game-winning single for host Aliso Niguel (8-11, 5-1). Krissy Genet hit a fifth-inning grand slam for Costa Mesa (4-14, 1-5).

Laguna Hills 1, Estancia 0--Leea Harlan (10-4) threw a perfect game for Laguna Hills, striking out 11 and getting the other 10 outs on ground balls. It’s Harlan’s first perfect game this season and second no-hitter.
