Blades Even Series Against Ice Dogs
Dave Chyzowski scored twice in the first period and had an assist in the second at Long Beach Arena on Saturday as the Kansas City Blades held on against the Ice Dogs for a 4-3 victory that tied their best-of-seven International Hockey League Western Conference series, 1-1.
Chyzowski got the game’s first goal at 2:15 and scored his fifth goal of the playoffs three minutes later. He also set up Mike Craig’s score 8:26 into the second period.
The Blades built a 4-0 lead before the end of the period on J.F. Quintin’s third playoff goal, then held on as Doug Ast, Dan Lambert and Vitali Yachmenev scored in the third period for the Ice Dogs.
The series resumes Wednesday in Kansas City.
