George Cukor’s 1964 “My Fair Lady” won eight Academy Awards including best picture, director (Cukor) and actor (Rex Harrison). All these years later, the charming musical holds up, despite Henry Higgins’ attitudes about men and women. A recently restored 70-mm print will screen as part of the Academy Standards series. The rarely seen clip of Audrey Hepburn’s “singing voice test” will also be screened. (Hepburn’s singing was not strong enough and the songs were dubbed by Marni Nixon.)

* “My Fair Lady,” Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Samuel Goldwyn Theater, 8949 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills. $3-$5. (310) 247-3600.

Maverick writer-director David Lynch, who shook up the staid film world of the ‘80s with his disturbing and genre-defying films, will be feted in a two-weekend film retrospective at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Among the films to be screened are “Blue Velvet,” “Wild at Heart” and the little-seen experimental video “Industrial Symphony #1.” On Saturday, following the 7:30 p.m. screening of “Lost Highway,” Lynch will be on hand, talking with Elvis Mitchell, host of the KCRW-FM radio show “The Treatment.”

3 pm: Aviation

Calling all armchair pilots. Instead of just imagining what it was like to fly a World War II bomber, take a flight at the Wings of History Tour. Though B-24 and B-17 bombers formed the brunt of the American Strategic Bombing Force in WWII, only a handful exists today. Two of the surviving and flying planes, the Collings B-24 “All American” and the B-17G “Nine-O-Nine,” will take to the skies again this weekend, providing anyone who wants to pay $300 the sights and sounds of a historic mission--without the enemy fire. For a cheaper thrill, visitors can take ground tours of the historic planes. Veterans will be on hand to answer questions and tell about their experiences.

* Wings of History Tour, Friday, 3 p.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m.; Monday, 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Mercury Aviation, 4301 Empire Ave., Burbank Airport. Bomber flights, $300. Ground tours, $7 adults; $3 for children under 12. (626) 794-2902 for flight reservations and general information.

8 pm: Dance

Widely considered an impressionistic journey through the 20th Century, Bill T. Jones’ “We Set Out Early . . . Visibility Was Poor. . . “ turns away from the controversial, multidisciplinary movement theater of his “Still/ Here” and “Last Supper at Uncle Tom’s Cabin/The Promised Land” toward more conventional modern dance expression. But the 75-minute piece conveys abundant intensity through what the New York Times called “images that are meditative or emotionally charged.” Music by Igor Stravinsky, John Cage and contemporary Latvian composer Peteris Vasks accompanies Jones’ journey.

* Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, Royce Hall, UCLA campus, Westwood. Friday-Saturday, 8 p.m. $16 (students)-$40. (310) 825-2101.
