Firm Plans Move to CSU Campus

A Camarillo-based computer software company negotiating to lease space at Ventura County’s developing Cal State university will move about two dozen workers to the proposed campus later this month in what CSU officials hope is the first step to a long-term arrangement.

Je Tech Data Systems has signed a rental agreement that will allow 20 to 25 workers to occupy 2,500 square feet at the site beginning May 18.

The company, which develops business software, has been negotiating for months to lease a 30,000-square-foot building at the former Camarillo State Hospital complex, which is set to become a Cal State campus.

That building could ultimately house more than 100 Je Tech employees, CSU officials said.

“We’re still working out the lease, but we’re hopeful that we can make some longer-term arrangement,” said Noel Grogan, project manager for the fledgling CSU campus.

In addition to Je Tech, CSU planners are negotiating for lease space with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, Ventura County Fire Department and a range of high-tech and biotech firms.
