Ex-Vice Principal Pleads Innocent to Impregnating Student
A former vice principal at Rancho Alamitos High School in Garden Grove pleaded innocent Thursday to impregnating a student at the school, a secret they apparently kept for two years, authorities say.
Miguel Vivanco, 42, of Costa Mesa is charged with having sex with a 17-year-old in 1996. She subsequently gave birth and is pregnant with his second child, police said.
Vivanco, who had arranged to surrender to authorities at the courthouse in Westminster, was released on his own recognizance after the hearing.
He resigned from his job March 13, the day school officials took the case to police.
