Hart Deep-Sixes Foothill League

Juniors Anthony Ervin and Ryan Parmenter helped Hart High set six Foothill League records and the Indians cruised to the boys’ title with 486 points at Valley College on Friday.

Ervin won the 50-yard freestyle in 20.92 and the 100 freestyle in 46.89, breaking marks he set last year.

Parmenter finished the 200 freestyle in 1:42.86, breaking his record, and won the 100 butterfly in 53.37, breaking the record that Spencer Hess of Burbank set in 1986.

Hart set league records in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

Mission League finals--Joel Everman of Notre Dame High, defending Southern Section Division II champion in the 200 and 500 freestyle, won Mission League titles in both events for the fourth consecutive year at Cal State Northridge.

Everman, who has committed to USC, clocked 1:45.34 in the 200 and 4:42.93 in the 500.

Channel League finals--Vern Moen won two events, and Marcel Schwarz and Mike Derse each won one for Ventura but the Cougars lost the team title to Dos Pueblos, 243-240, at Hueneme High.

GIRLS

Channel League finals--Nicole Craft, Brina Bendy, Jana Richardson and Grace Peterson won the 200 medley relay in 1:55.25 and the 400 freestyle relay in 3:42.96 to clinch the first league title in school history for Ventura at Hueneme High.

Foothill League finals--Heather Boylan of Saugus set a league record in the 200 individual medley, finishing in 2:11.46, but the Centurions finished second to Hart at Valley College.

Elizabeth Frick and Hayley Jones each won two events for Hart.

Mission League finals--Maureen Farrell of Alemany won the 100 freestyle in 54.03 and the 100 backstroke in 59.08 at Cal State Northridge.

Kristine Ross of Chaminade won the 200 individual medley in 2:13.76 and the 100 butterfly in 1:00.51.
