Monroe 4, Van Nuys 1--John Ennis (8-3) threw a one-hitter and struck out nine for the Vikings in a Mid-Valley League game at Monroe.
The victory clinched the league title for Monroe (16-13-1, 10-7), which scored its final two runs on a two-out pinch single in the sixth by Vince Vargas.
Van Nuys (13-13, 8-8) scored its only run in the first when Angel Barajas doubled and later scored on a fielding error.
Poly 16, Grant 7--Mark Castardo had two doubles and six runs batted in and George Felix had three hits and two stolen bases for Poly (15-6-2, 10-4-2) in an East Valley League game at Grant.
Castardo hit a two-run double in the fifth inning and a three-run double in the sixth.

Granada Hills 12, Cleveland 9--Granada Hills (9-19, 5-11) scored eight unearned runs in a North Valley League game at Cleveland (16-8, 9-7), which committed eight errors.
