Relocation of Weekly Farmers Market Planned

The Westwood Village Community Alliance, sponsor of the weekly farmers market, announced plans to move the market from Weyburn Avenue to Broxton Avenue by the end of the year, officials said.

The directors of the alliance, which is Westwood’s business improvement district, hope the Thursday afternoon market will move to Broxton between Weyburn and Kinross avenues, pending approval from merchants and permits from the city, said Patty Evans, operations manager for the district. The board named sites on Broxton and Le Conte as runners-up.

The market would have to move from its current location at Weyburn and Glendon avenues when construction eventually begins on the proposed Village Center Westwood development, Evans said.
