Huskies Change Tailbacks--Again

After losing convincingly at USC, the Washington Huskies have a new No. 1 tailback and new hope that they can find a running attack for the first time all season.

At 5-3 and with a 3-2 record in the Pac-10, Washington needs to win at least one of its final three games--against Oregon, UCLA and Washington State--to qualify for a bowl game for the fourth year in a row.

On Monday, Coach Jim Lambright announced that freshman Braxton Cleman will replace freshman Willie Hurst in the starting lineup Saturday at Oregon.

Lambright hopes Cleman will give his team what Maurice Shaw, Jason Harris and Hurst couldn’t--something besides Brock Huard’s passing.

Hurst gained 15 yards in six carries in his third start at USC, a 33-10 loss in which Huard attempted 62 passes and was intercepted four times.
