Pepsi Fizzles; L.A. Cellular Doesn’t Connect

Not sure I agree with your assessment of the Pepsi One spots from BBDO [Ad Reviews, Oct. 22]. I’ve seen them a number of times now, and I still haven’t found myself getting the message of either flavor or caloric content.

Maybe the info is there, but it’s sure obscured. Using your rating system, I’d give the commercials a very generous $ at most.

The L.A. Cellular spots miss the mark as well [Ad Reviews, Oct. 22]. They do a nice job of telling me the ways a cellular phone is handy. But they do nothing to sell me on L.A. Cellular (of which I am a customer, by the way). Entertainment value? $$+. Marketing value? $-.
