Bruins, Islanders Make Trade

The Boston Bruins, seeking a physical presence, acquired left wing Ken Belanger from the New York Islanders for forward Ted Donato.

“Ken brings us some size and toughness at forward,” assistant general manager Mike O’Connell said Saturday. “He’s big, he can skate and he’s tough.”

The 24-year-old Belanger, in his fifth professional season, has a goal and an assist in nine games for the Islanders.

Donato, who plays center and left wing, has been in the league seven years--all with the Bruins.
