Titans Tie Stanford in Soccer

Colby Jackson scored Sunday for No. 14 Cal State Fullerton, which tied eighth-ranked Stanford, 1-1, in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s soccer game at Stanford.

Jackson’s tying goal came three minutes after Stanford scored its goal in the first half. Ray Ramirez assisted on the Fullerton goal. Sean Rockwell had one save for the Titans (13-4-2, 5-1-2).

Lee Morrison scored in the 26th minute for Stanford (14-4-1, 5-2-1).

In another conference match:

California 4, UC Irvine 1--The Anteaters were hit with two red cards and the Bears jumped on the opportunity, scoring three second-half goals. The Anteaters’ Oliver Zlomislik headed in a Gustav Gratzer corner kick in the 45th minute to tie the score, 1-1. UC Irvine is 8-11, 2-6. California improved to 7-10-1, 4-4.

In Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s water polo:

UCLA 9, UC Irvine 6--The No. 2 Bruins held off a late charge by the fourth-ranked Anteaters. Sunday’s victory gave the Bruins a 2-1 edge in the series. Former Costa Mesa standout Sam Grayeli had three goals to lead UCLA (15-3, 6-1). Jason Gabarra had three points, including a two-pointer for UC Irvine (15-6, 4-2).
