The South Orange County Community College Board of Trustees will again procedurally correct controversial appointments made last year at Irvine Valley and Saddleback colleges. A superior court judge ruled last year that the demotion of 10 IVC department chairs and the appointment of IVC President Raghu P. Mather were invalid, the decisions having been made without notice and behind closed doors. The board corrected those appointments last year, and board President John Williams said the purpose of today’s meeting is to clarify actions taken by the board as required by state law.
