Thousand Oaks sheriff’s officials have released a composite drawing of a man responsible for the afternoon attack on a Thousand Oaks woman who was doing laundry at the Oakcrest Apartments.

The woman, a tenant at the complex in the 300 block of Hodencamp Road, reported that a man attempted to sexually assault her about 12:40 p.m. Monday, deputies said.

The suspect tried to drag the woman to the floor of the laundry room but fled after she bit him on the hand. The woman suffered minor injuries to her neck and shoulders, deputies said.

The suspect was seen running from the apartment complex toward a nearby Kaiser Permanente parking lot, where he left in a red or maroon four-door compact, deputies said.

The suspect is white, 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet 10 inches, 180 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information should call deputies or Crime Stoppers at 494-TALK or 987-TALK.

Deputies said the attack is not related to a case in mid-August in which a woman was raped in her home near Windsor Drive and Janss Road in Thousand Oaks. The suspect descriptions in the cases differ, deputies said.
