The Laguna Art Museum has filed for arbitration with the Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach over a disputed $150,000 interest payment after efforts to mediate the issue failed. The Laguna museum contends that it should have received at least twice what the Newport museum paid it on Laguna’s share of the interest generated by a $2-million endowment. OCMA had held the endowment and the interest until earlier this year after a failed merger of the two museums.
