PLACENTIA
Placentia Police Capt. Charles A. Babcock has been recognized by the City Council as an outstanding city employee. Babcock was hired in December 1970 as a part-time police reserve officer. In June 1971, he became a police officer.
During his tenure, Babcock has served in a variety of assignments, including as a school resource officer and master police officer. Last year, he became a captain and is assigned to the Operations Division, where he is in charge of all patrol officers. This year, he received a Meritorious Medal award for his involvement in the Street Legal Racing Program, aimed at discouraging street drag racing.
