When the Kings went on the power play at Anaheim, they had a new look, with a forward playing, well, back.

Meet Glen Murray, point man.

“It was different,” Murray, a winger, said Tuesday. “I’m going to have to call [Rob] Blake up and get some pointers.”

The move was made to try to create some life in an otherwise moribund power play, which was 0 for 26 before Olli Jokinen broke the spell with a goal in the third period.

Murray is a workhorse, with a strong shot and the ability to skate, though his passing on the power play, well. . . .

“I’m just shooting everything,” he said. “I’m not back there to make plays. I’m just shooting everything at the net, so, ‘Boys, heads up.’ ”
