Official Leaving Restaurant Business
Ventura City Councilman and restaurateur Sandy Smith said he is calling it quits at Main Street’s Rosarito Beach Cafe.
“It’s been some time coming,” said Smith, a chef and co-owner of the business. “I entered a partnership a few years ago that was a bad idea. That, coupled with so much time in the business, I felt it was time for a change.”
Although he has no immediate plans, Smith said he is considering several options.
“I have a teaching credential, I could go into social services, and with my experience on the Planning Commission I could get into land use planning consulting,” Smith said. “We’ll just have to see how it goes.”
The restaurant, he said, will remain open.
