Maritime Museum Receives $5,000 Grant
* The Ventura County Maritime Museum received a $5,000 grant from the Wood-Claeyssens Foundation. The money will be used for general operating support.
The Santa Barbara-based foundation provides support to health, social services and nonprofit cultural organizations in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. This is the museum’s fourth grant provided by the foundation.
Simi Valley Man Honored by Republicans
* Frank Kenton of Simi Valley received the National Leadership Award from the National Republican Congressional Committee. Kenton was honored for serving as co-chairman of the committee’s Business Advisory Council, which was “instrumental in shaping the Republicans’ balanced budget plan.”
