* The latest study recommends phasing out MTBE additive in gasoline within California (Nov. 17). The other part of the equation is lousy gas mileage. I get 18 miles per gallon in California driving and 23 mpg out of state with my Ford Ranger truck. UC Davis should give us the complete picture of pollution per mile rather than pollution per gallon.
