Beverly Hills mounts its own mini-version of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade--the Beverly Hills Parade of Lights--on the heaviest shopping day of the year, Friday.

“We hope the event will be appreciated and cherished, and that it will continue for years to come and become an exciting opportunity for people to stay in Beverly Hills and come to Beverly Hills over the Thanksgiving holiday,” Parade of Lights co-chair (and director of Tiffany & Co.) Nellie Seddigh said.

Grand Marshal Mickey Mouse will lead carolers, holiday-themed floats from local merchants, giant balloons and classic vehicles down Rodeo Drive, starting at 7 p.m. Also in tow will be a horse-drawn carriage with singers, an antique fire engine, the Beverly Hills trolley and more.

The parade will begin at the Beverly Hills Post Office on the corner of Crescent Drive and Little Santa Monica Boulevard, proceed west on Little Santa Monica and south on Rodeo Drive, leaving a trail of holiday lights. It will then move east on Dayton Way and north on Beverly Drive.

The lighting of the “Tree of Lights” atop the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel will cap off the free event. Parking is available in Beverly Hills city lots. Call (800) 345-2210 for more information.
