* LONG BEACH STATE (1-3) at SAN DIEGO STATE (0-4), 1 p.m.--Long Beach’s 74-48 loss to USC on Tuesday was its second-worst in two-plus seasons under Coach Wayne Morgan, but the 49ers at least can take some comfort in the knowledge that San Diego State lost to the Trojans by 45 points. Long Beach, which made 35% of its shots against USC, has failed to score at least 50 points in consecutive games for the first time since the 1985-86 season.
