GOLF
Ben Crenshaw, Craig Stadler and Casey Martin have been added to the eight-player EMC Golf Skills Challenge at Ojai Valley Inn and Spa on Nov. 9.
The trio will join John Daly, Peter Jacobsen and defending champion Billy Andrade. Two additional tour members are expected to be added.
WRESTLING
Chuck Sandlin, a Moorpark College wrestler hospitalized Thursday night after collapsing during a dual meet against Fresno City, returned to school Friday.
Sandlin, state champion last season at 177 pounds, suffered dehydration following a 9-7 overtime loss to Jason Rossotti. He was taken by ambulance to Simi Valley Hospital, treated and released.
BASEBALL
Gerry Sandoval, a former assistant at Moorpark and Fillmore highs, has been hired as head coach at Santa Paula High.
Sandoval replaces Henry Jacinto, who guided the Cardinals to a 6-16 record last season, including a 2-13 mark in Frontier League play.
TENNIS
Pierre Marescal defeated Alan Gold, 6-2, 6-3, to win the men’s 35-year-old division of the annual senior tournament last weekend at Westlake Tennis and Swim Club.
Jiri Cermak defeated Scott Phillips, 6-0, 6-0, in the men’s 40 division and Gene Malin beat Rick Rozen, 6-2, 7-5, in men’s 45s.
In men’s 50s, Tom Wire defeated Hal Zajic, 6-2, 7-6, and Dick Ladenberger beat German Ruiz, 3-6, 6-1, 3-0 (retired), in men’s 55s.
Norm Perry beat Lloyd Goldwater, 7-6, 7-5, in men’s 60s, and John Bennet defeated Gene Powell, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5, in the men’s 65s division.
ROAD RACING
The Six Flags Magic Mountain 5K Run is scheduled for 8 a.m. Sunday at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia.
Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. Sunday and is open to runners of all ages. The entry fee is $25.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center and Kiwanis Club of Newhall-Saugus.

Tryouts for an 18-and-under travel team are set for Oct. 11.
The team will be coached by Dale Okinaka, who headed the 18-and-under national champion Southern California Waves in 1995.
