Corey Neal

YEAR: Senior
SEASON AT A GLANCE: One of the most skilled athletes in the region, Neal has played running back, wide receiver, defensive back and returned punts and kickoffs. He has rushed for 223 yards, and has four receptions and two interceptions.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Neal had eight touchdowns in a 55-8 victory over Poly in a Valley Pac-8 Conference opener, scoring on runs of two, two, one, four, five, 16 and four yards and a 71-yard punt return. Neal rushed for 105 yards in 15 carries as Sylmar won its 61st consecutive conference game.
GIRLS
Jennifer Ryan
SCHOOL: La Reina
SPORT: Volleyball
YEAR: Sophomore
SEASON AT A GLANCE: One of the best sophomores in the region, the 6-foot-1 middle blocker has helped La Reina to an 8-0 start. She leads the Regents, ranked No. 5 in the region, with 4.3 kills per game and has a .390 hitting percentage.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Ryan had 21 kills and four aces in a five-game victory over Notre Dame, ranked No. 9 in the region. Ryan also had 15 service points for the Regents, who trailed in games, 2-1, before rallying for the victory. “She’s on pace to have an incredible year,” La Reina Coach Don Hyatt said.
