The Dodgers claimed relief pitcher Doug Bochtler off waivers from the Detroit Tigers. Bochtler, 28, led the Tigers with 67 1/3 innings but was went 0-2 with a 6.15 earned-run average. . . . Jim Leyland confirmed that he has signed a three-year contract to manage the Colorado Rockies. “Once I talked to them, I didn’t want to go anywhere else,” said Leyland, who will be formally introduced in Denver today. . . . Pitcher Mark Mulder, the second overall pick in this year’s baseball draft, received a record $3.2 million signing bonus from the Oakland Athletics, his agent Gregg Clifton said. The bonus exceeds the $3.15 million received by No. 1 pick Pat Burrell from the Philadelphia Phillies.
