Islanders Win Battle but Bruins Win Game

The New York Islanders outplayed, outshot and outhustled the Boston Bruins but, for the second consecutive game, were victimized by a brief lapse and lost, 3-0, Monday at Boston.

Bruin goalie Byron Dafoe made 28 saves and earned the shutout.

St. Louis 4, New York Rangers 2--Defenseman Al MacInnis scored three consecutive goals to lead the Blues past the struggling Rangers (0-3-0) at New York.

Buffalo 3, Colorado 0--Dominik Hasek stopped 32 shots for his 34th career shutout as the Sabres won at Denver. Jason Woolley, Michael Peca and Alexei Zhitnik scored for the Sabres.
