Every Saturday night, starting this week, the Country Club in Reseda will present Mariachi USA Fiesta, a supper club for mariachi lovers. Performers include Mariachi Imperial de Mexico and soloists from the annual Mariachi USA Festival at the Hollywood Bowl.

Shakespeare’s ghosts, witches and spirits come to life in Shakespeare Festival/LA’s “Hauntings, a Shakespearean Seance,” conjuring spirits from such plays as Macbeth, Hamlet and Richard III. It’s staged by noted Broadway director Tom O’Horgan (“Hair,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Lenny”), with lighting design by six-time Tony Award-winning Jules Fisher and starring internationally acclaimed magician Eugene Burger as the Spirit Guide.

Take-a-Hike for Breast Cancer Research’s annual benefit at Paramount Ranch will be led by model Cindy Crawford. Honorary Chairwoman Crawford and other celebrities, including actresses Tia and Tamera Mowry, will host the event. People at all levels of fitness are invited to join the hikes ranging from less than a mile for beginners to six miles for advanced hikers.

Music Directors Jorge Mester and JoAnn Falletta, longtime leaders of the Pasadena and Long Beach symphonies, respectively, launch their newest seasons with difficult and showy programs. At Pasadena Civic Auditorium, Mester leads a program of music by the late Leonard Bernstein; his soloist is violinist Robert McDuffie, who will play the Serenade (after Plato’s “Symposium”). At the Terrace Theater in Long Beach, Falletta hosts Horacio Gutierrez, who plays the Piano Concerto by Andre Previn; the program also offers works by Hindemith and Richard Strauss.
