Corona del Mar Upsets No. 6 Newport Harbor

Hunter MacDonald scored two touchdowns to lead Corona del Mar to a 28-18 upset over sixth-ranked Newport Harbor in a Sea View League opener Friday night at Newport Harbor High.
MacDonald gave the Sea Kings (5-1, 1-0) a 7-0 lead on a 46-yard touchdown pass from Michael Bergey with 4 minutes 46 seconds left in the half. MacDonald later returned an interception 42 yards for a touchdown.
Bergey was eight of 15 for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Nate Lemmerman led the Sea Kings on the ground with 105 yards in 27 carries and a one-yard touchdown.
Steve Gorman was 20 of 41 for 247 yards and two touchdowns for Newport Harbor (5-1, 0-1).
