Overpass Removal to Create Detour
As work continues on the Santa Ana Freeway, the State College Boulevard overpass will close to commuters beginning Monday morning.
The closure will last about 30 days to allow for the removal of the overpass so State College can be reconstructed as an underpass.
Motorists will be able to use the new Orangewood Avenue underpass as a detour.
Northbound motorists on The City Drive should go left on Chapman Avenue, right on Lewis Street and right on Orangewood Avenue to State College. Southbound drivers on State College can turn right on Orangewood, left on Lewis and left on Chapman to The City Drive.
The work is part of the $1.1-billion Santa Ana Freeway project through Anaheim, Orange, Fullerton and Buena Park. Major improvements include ramp upgrades and carpool lanes.
