PORTLAND

VOLLEYBALL

* County connections: Bridget Beschen of San Clemente, Cathy Cook of Irvine and K.T. Lamb of Capistrano Valley

* Worth noting: Cook, a sophomore middle blocker, leads the team in several categories, including kills and blocks. Lamb, a sophomore outside hitter, leads the team in digs. Beschen is a freshman outside hitter.

SAN FRANCISCO SOCCER

* County connections: Heidi Prestegard of Edison

* Worth noting: Prestegard, a freshman midfielder and forward, has three goals in 13 games for USF (4-8-1).

ST. MARY’S COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL

* County connections: Whitney Hoover of Calvary Chapel, Jamie Shine of El Modena and Orange Coast College and Meagan Smith of Laguna Beach

* Worth noting: Shine, a fifth-year senior playing her first season of volleyball, had 12 kills in a recent loss to University of San Diego. Hoover is a sophomore setter and Smith is a freshman outside hitter.
