Bucciarelli’s Goal Gets UCI Past San Jose State

Nicole Bucciarelli scored the winning goal in overtime to lead UC Irvine to a 1-0 victory over San Jose State in nonconference women’s soccer.
Bucciarelli sailed a free kick over the wall and into the goal past San Jose goalkeeper Amee Brown in the 102nd minute.
Irvine goalkeeper Kirsten Roy had eight saves for the Anteaters (11-3-2).
San Jose State is 3-14.
In Golden State Athletic Conference men’s soccer:
Southern California College 2, Concordia 0--Diego Goni scored his 15th goal of the season in the 61st minute, and Joseph Neri added a goal three minutes later for visiting Southern California College (7-9, 2-4).
In nonconference women’s volleyball:
Chapman 3, Cal State Dominguez Hills 2--Erin Dedic had 20 kills and Lisa Nitta had 43 assists as Chapman came back from a 2-1 deficit to win, 15-6, 13-15, 3-15, 15-8, 15-13. Erika Chaney had 15 kills for Chapman (10-10).
In nonconference men’s water polo:
Chapman 17, Villanova 12--Erik Sandbig and Matt Miles combined for 11 goals to lead Chapman. Eric Lefebvre scored seven goals for Villanova.
