Stefan Leads Ice Dogs to 5-4 Road Victory

Patrik Stefan, the top rookie scorer in the International Hockey League, scored his third goal of the season to give the Ice Dogs a 5-4 victory over the Grand Rapids Griffins Friday night at Grand Rapids, Mich.

Stefan, 18, scored the game-winning goal with 45 seconds remaining in the second period. That gave Long Beach its league-high sixth victory.

Claude Jutras and Patrik Augusta scored first for the Ice Dogs. But Grand Rapids’ Robert Petrovicky and Maxim Spiridonov had goals to make it 2-2 after the first period.

The Ice Dogs’ Dan Lambert and Frederick Jobin added two goals in the second period. The Griffins’ Anders Bjork and Danton Cole scored to tie the score at 4-4.
