Knee Injury for Virginia’s Poindexter

Virginia safety Anthony Poindexter tore a ligament in his left knee and will have surgery early this week, team doctor Frank McCue said Sunday.

The extent of the injury, which happened in the Cavaliers’ 23-13 victory over North Carolina State on Saturday, won’t be known until the surgery, McCue said.
