Santa Clara 38, Malibu 0--The Saints (4-4, 1-1) won their first league game since Oct. 21, 1994, snapping a 15-game losing streak by posting a shutout at Channel Islands High.

Terrance Dotsy caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Kevin Gormley with 3:18 remaining in the first half to give the Saints a 17-0 lead. Two plays later, Santa Clara recovered a Malibu fumble. On the first play of the Saints’ ensuing drive, Paul Macen threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Willie Burse on a halfback option to make the score, 23-0, with 2:40 left in the half.

Santa Clara outgained the Sharks (3-5, 0-3), 367-105. Macen rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns in 11 carries. Gormley completed 11 of 15 passes for 166 yards and one touchdown. Dotsy caught five passes for 86 yards.
