Police Seek Driver in Fatal Hit and Run

Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed an 82-year-old woman as she crossed a street, a California Highway Patrol officer said Tuesday.
Jennie Lozano was crossing a marked crosswalk on the west side of Whittier Boulevard near Eastman Avenue about 5 p.m. Monday when she was hit by a tan and green Chevy or Ford pickup going north, said CHP Officer Bill Preciado.
The driver made no attempt to stop and “just floored it and took off,” Preciado said.
