Area Council to Hold Government Day

Share

To give community members a chance to meet city officials and get information on local services, the 5th District Valley Neighborhood Council will host Government Day on Monday.

“Government Day is one of the ways the Valley Neighborhood Council is working to improve the community,” said City Councilman Michael Feuer, who is scheduled to be the featured participant. “I encourage community members to attend this event to learn how they can work most effectively with the city to achieve mutual goals.”

The neighborhood council, which was established by Feuer for his Valley constituents, is a volunteer organization that works to aid the community through education, crime prevention, neighborhood beautification and traffic and safety improvements.

Capt. Valentino Paniccia of the LAPD’s Van Nuys Division also plans to attend.

Other city offices and organizations scheduled to have representatives at the event include the mayor’s and city attorney’s offices, street services, transportation, building and safety, Graffiti Busters, neighborhood code watch and street lighting.

The Valley portion of the 5th District includes parts of North Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Valley Glen, Valley Village and Van Nuys.

Government Day will be held at Monarch Hall on the campus of Valley College, 5800 Fulton Ave., beginning at 7 p.m.
